Whiplash hauled his body from the swamp, gasping for breath, and lay face down on the bank.
"Where am I?" asked Whiplash
"Nowhere" said nothing.
Raising tentatively on shaking knees, Whiplash surveyed his surroundings. An impossibly dark wood, split by a path leading to a single light.
"Where does that path lead?" asked Whiplash.
"To the cabin," said nothing.
Whiplash held his hands up to his face. His left hand was missing three fingernails and his right hand was lunch for a plump leech fastened to the base of his thumb.
"What's in the cabin? asked Whiplash?
"Your birthday party," said nothing
Whiplash removed the leech with his teeth and chewed it as he walked. Sometimes you just don't have all the answers.
