For better or for worse, this has got to be the most elaborate song I've attempted to capture on my four track. At a certain point the density became the sound I was channeling, a soup of guitars and organs. A wash of texture and mood. When bouncing between tape channels, quality saturates, sounds blur, and unexpected results ensue. I'm not working with top notch equipment, nor do I have the fullest understanding of how to use it, but I have definitely developed a close relationship with the tools at my disposal. I have my superstitions about how things will sit and mix and FEEL and I've realized these superstitions are important, because you can quite possibly hear them in the song. At least I think so.
