Cynthia's Theme - 16/21

Recorded at my grandparent's house while they were on vacation.


As many of you probably know, earlier this year I spent a few weeks labouring away at the soundtrack for Ivanka Haney's (Great friend and better director) short film Boy In Bloom. If you've ever found yourself wondering what the the film is like, now is your chance to find out... Save the date because may 11th is the official screening of Boy In Bloom! Live from Citadel + Compagnie, the event features opening sets from Whiplash Girlchild and my brother Ezra Tennen who was in the film as well.

My song for this week is Cynthia's Theme. Cynthia is a runaway drag queen, desert wanderer, wizened by the years but still sharp enough to take off your nose... And she's really something to look at if I do say so myself. Without saying too much, this is the song that wafts from her old phonograph player and through her dressing room. An ode to past lives and distant troubles, secrets that tint the walls like old smoke. This is just a small taste of course. If you like what you hear, then I'll be seeing you on the 11th!

I've been posting these songs and blurbs to my Facebook page over the past year, but as what I'd like to write about the songs becomes more extensive and the number of tunes are climbing higher and higher. I'd like to acknowledge that facebook is not my personal blog.
