Welcome Home - 18/21

June 26th, 2019

Recorded at Epilogue Studios
Mixed/Engineered/Produced by Noam Fleischmann
All instrumental performances by Lucas Tennen

I think this song would actually do best without a description, so instead I'd like to beat the drum for Epilogue Studios. I've been working there on my 21 Demos for some time now. Noam (The owner) has been massively generous in his desire to cultivate talent that are coming through those white doors. We recorded this song together back to front and I'm pleased as punch. Anyone who's looking for a place to record a project, host an event, or just meet some hustling artists, I would point you in this direction --> epilogue.studio

lyrics

Mother's death defying gift of electrifying belief
At home you find relief
From your worries and your grief

Wrapped in the curtain, a proud hero's bane
Dawning a crown of plastic and jade
Crouched in the closet for fear of the mess that he's made.

Now on the doorstep the years since took flight
On a travelling circus, with no end in sight.
Seeking a purpose if any such thing can be found.

Mother's death defying gift of electrifying belief
At home you find relief
From your worries and your grief

Mother's tone implying wanting for rest, wanting for sleep
She's got a child to keep
Off in disbelief

Carry on,
Godspeed to the price
Carry on,
To crest the young throne
Carry on,
Like your father once did

Cut loose your bindings with bludgeonous bone
Cause the blisters are worth all the love you will know

You're being hard on yourself,
Yeah well maybe I'm not.
I fear all the matter that stands on this doorstep is all that I got.

You've been hard on yourself
Since you've been a child
So calm your need to carry on, and lay down for awhile.

Mother's death defying gift of electrifying belief
At home you find relief
From your worries and your grief

Mother's tone implying wanting for rest, wanting for sleep
She's got a child to keep
Off in disbelief
